Mapping Literacy-richness across Philadelphia
The opportunity for reading is all around us.
Read by 4th partners are growing learning landscapes across Philadelphia. Sidewalks have become lending libraries, grocery aisles are alphabet adventures, and neighborhood blocks have become incredible Playstreets. Our communities are being transformed to help grow stronger readers, more excited learners, and happier children.
Over the next few months, we’ll be mapping community-based literacy interventions and exploring what patterns emerge across the landscape. We hope to highlight existing assets, complexify our view of literacy beyond test scores, and further refine our collective work.
